Topic: Taxonomy Search Service

Dear Chris,

Before the recent upgrade of the NBN to version 5 there used to be a service provided on a webpage which allowed one to check Species Names and synonymys - this was called a Taxonomy Search and could be found at the following URL:

https://data.nbn.org.uk/nbnexamples/ws- … Search.jsp

This was an extremely useful service (to me at least) and one which often answered my various species name questions (particularly with regard to synonymy) and thereby kept me off your back.

Sadly, since this upgrade the above link only returns a 404 page not found error.

Could I please request that this service is brought back into availability (asap please) !!!

Many thanks for all your help and interest.

Re: Taxonomy Search Service

Taxonomy searches to find species names and synonyms can now be undertaken, very simply, over at the UK Species Index (UKSI) at:

http://nbn-sd-dev.nhm.ac.uk/taxonbrowser.php

Re: Taxonomy Search Service

Chris,

For a few days now (at least) the UKSI Taxon Search page at http://nbn-sd-dev.nhm.ac.uk/taxonbrowser.php has been giving the following message:  "Couldn't connect to SQL Server on SQL-Web-Dev:1433 ".

Any idea why and can it be fixed asap please ??

Cheers,
Steve
