Topic: Unknown TVK

Hello,
I have just run a dataset through the NBN recorder cleaner validation checks and have a few records with an unknown Taxon Version Key (all butterfly sunspecies).  Is this due to us using an older version of the Taxon Dictionary?  I can find the correct keys on the NBN website. So can I just replace the TVK with the correct key in the export file for the moment until we upgrade our version of the dictionary?

Hello Christine

The NBN Record Cleaner is using the latest species dictionary as supplied by Natural History Museum (last updated April 2013) and you may find some unknown Taxon Version Keys if you are using an older version of the species dictionary. Yes, replace the TVK with the current one as a temporary measure but I also suggest you upgrade your version of the species dictionary which should help resolve these discrepancies.
