Hello Chris.

If you ask for (as I did earlier today) the Gateway map for Andricus curvator (or all/many other gall-wasps), you get three separate returns: the unqualified taxon, the agamic form, and the sexual form.  The dots on the unqualified map do not include the others, but surely the sexual and agamic forms should be treated as synonyms and be mapped when calling the species.  I can't see any reason why the agamic and sexual forms should ever be needed as separate maps.  Certainly when I call the species I want to see all the dots for the species.

Apologies - took my eye off the forum for a few days :)

Yes I think that for mapping purposes it doesn't really serve any purpose to map them differently unless they migrate between generations, which is highly unlikely. As sexual/asexual generations they are just a more specific subcategory of the unqualified name. I will check with the Hymenopterists and post back here when I have thought about it :)

PS: I am on a bit of home holiday at the moment (until the 8th) but I will be monitoring emails and will database any issues that crop up while I am not in the office. :)
