Topic: Turkish Snail (Helix lucorum)
Chris,
Could you please add the Turkish Snail (Helix lucorum Linnaeus, 1758) to the dictionary.
We have recently had a specimen taken at Woolston Eyes on 5th January 2013. Adrian Norris, non-marine recorder for the British Conchological Society has said that there have been specimens recorded from: Wimbledon in October 2009, one from Cardiff in July 2012 and a “thriving colony from Pitfield open space in Hoddesden, Hertfordshire in June 2012”. (http://www.conchsoc.org/node/6133).
It would be good to be able to get these finds into the LRC databases and then into the Gateway.
Many thanks
Steve
