Re: Another sawfly muddle, I think
According to the 2009 sawfly checklist that lurks somewhere on the web,
Pristiphora rufipes Serville, 1823 has the synonyms
aquilegiae (Vollenhoven, 1866, Nematus) and
alnivora (Hartig, 1840): misidentification.
If you search the Gateway, you find one return for
Pristiphora aquilegiae (Vollenhoven, 1866) TaxonVersionKey: NBNSYS0100004860 (no name-rating)
and another for
Pristiphora (Pristiphora) rufipes Serville, 1823 TaxonVersionKey: NHMSYS0020482100 with the synonyms
Nematus aquilegiae Vollenhoven, 1866 TaxonVersionKey: NHMSYS0020481501
Pristiphora alnivora (Hartig) TaxonVersionKey: NBNSYS0000013537
Pristiphora alnivora misidentification (Hartig, 1840) misidentification TaxonVersionKey: NHMSYS0020482105
Pristiphora rufipes (Lepeletier, 1823) TaxonVersionKey: NBNSYS0100004867.
I suspect that P. aquilegiae and P. rufipes should be one and the same, by analogy with my recent posts and the others you found on Tenthredo spp.
