Re: Bryophyte Checklist

I believe that the preferred list for Bryophytes in Recorder is the BBS checklist from 2003. There have been some significant changes since then, and in Wales we are trying to implement a new locally scarce and threatened list, but my efforts are being hampered by the changes in nomenclature and new species.

Can I ask if there are any plans to get the latest update incorporated? Or should I just ask for the new species to be added into the 'List of additional names'?

The latest checklist can be downloaded here:

Re: Bryophyte Checklist

Hi Dave, The Bryophyte checklist is on the list of work to do but it is a large and complex list so it was put to one side because Charles had to finish a huge amount of database cleaning and restructuring. I will get around to doing the import at some time in the not too distant future but I am reluctant to put a timescale on it because I have only just started in this post and need some more experience under my belt before I can tackle that list.

Sorry if that isn't what you needed to hear but I am happy to add individual names if you need them. Individual names are still fiddly but they can be fitted in while working on other, larger jobs. :)
