Re: Filtering using sample type

I've just tried to use the report wizard to select records of a particular sample type (i.e. field observation, microscopically examined etc.). I looked in the conditions section of additional filters and there is a long list of fields to use to select records, but not sample type (which I would have thought would be pretty frequently used).  Am I missing something obvious?

Re: Filtering using sample type

You're right, there's not sample type in the additional filters. I'd never noticed that before. Best way around that I can think of is to export all sample types to Excel or Access (using the new export tool in R6.9.3) and do some filtering in there. Alternatively you could write (or get someone to write) an XML Report. Depends on how regularly you're going to need this type of report.

Re: Filtering using sample type

Thanks Charles

The problem was that I wanted to filter out records in order to Export them. I probably won't need to prepare this type of report very frequently and I've managed to think up a way around it (by putting an appropriate entry in another field that could used for filtering).

I don't imagine it's too difficult to add the field to the list though, is it?

I'm not sure - that's one John van Breda can answer perhaps.
