I have just had a problem importing Puccinia urticata = P. caricina.  I want the species, but not to specify any of the many varieties.

If I import P. urticata and identify it as the aggregate in the BMS dictionary (preferred), it is returned as the genus only.  Unfortunately I did not realise this until I had imported a couple of hundred in a batch, and then had to edit the tables to reset the records to P. caricina from the BPGS list.  OK, so there was nothing on telly, but it was a hassle I could have done without.

Not being totally familar with the innards of rust taxonomy I don't know what exactly the position is, but I feel that there is an error here - or at least a source of major confusion.  I would be grateful for clarification.
