Re: SQL Server 2008 R2 Express
Trying to install Recorder 6 on a new PC running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and SQL Server 2008 R2 Express.
Logged in as a Windows user with administrator rights.
Before starting Recorder installation, as that same Windows user I successfully created a (test) database using the same instance as subsequently chosen in Recorder installation. I manually stopped that SQL Server instance immediately before installation. That service is configured to automatically start upon Windows boot/restart.
Appears to connect to my specified existing instance, but after (the installation prompted) restart, in Recorder Database Setup / Database Login Options, with either SQL server 'sa' login or NT account login, get 'Access is Denied' warning, and cannot proceed. I know the password I'm entering is correct (used successfully in SQL Server Management Studio to connect to Database Engine).
The CD I'm using contains Recorder 6.13 (June 2008). Obviously I'd upgrade to the latest version if I could get past the initial hurdle.
Has anyone encountered this problem, please ?
