I have added two new designation sets to Recorder 6; Local BAP and locally notable fora and I am wondering how I add taxon designations/taxon desigation abbreviations so that when I use the report wizard the relevant species' statuses can be exported along with the records?

Have you added two new designation types and then created designation sets which include these new types ? 

If so then you can add the designation abbreviation directly against the  Determination Type in  the  Taxon_Determination_Table. Either in Access or using the SQL Management Tools.
