Re: Import when species are not in Dictionary

I've spent several hours matching names from a Mapmate export to the species dictionary using the import "wizard" (which is a pretty dim wizard, in my opinion). However, I am left with two species that I can't match as they are not on any of the checklists. I want to go to "Next" to complete this import of 83,000 records but it won't allow me to until I deal with these two species. Any help appreciated.

Well, I "solved" this problem by deleting the rows with the species concerned. Disappointing that species which have been on the British list for a few years and aren't scarce are nowhere to be found in the dictionary.

Re: Import when species are not in Dictionary

What were the species?

I would select a dummy taxon in the wizard and change them afterwards to new taxa I added to the List of Additional Names in the meantime. Also possible to save the matches you have already made, cancel the import, add the taxa then restart the import which will mean you don't have to rematch. Haven't tried to add the extra taxa in the middle of the import but it might be possible.

I've now found these species. They are in "list of additional names" which is something I'd never heard of before.
