I've just had the same problem as atu had with Windows 7, but mine is under XP on Recorder 6.14 and on 2 PC's out of 5, and one User Profile only.
I have not changed anything (that I'm aware of), but when this user (network user, not Recorder user) tries to access maps, the message: Error Code -5:File access denied – C:\Program Files\Recorder 6 Workstation\Map Files\GBandIreland.gsf is displayed.

My initial reaction is that this is some problem with permissions, but it may not be.  A simple way to test for this is to see if the user can create and modify a text file (using say Notepad) in the Map Files folder.

Thanks Mike,

I've authorised that particular user to the folder Map Files and all seems OK. I've no idea how the permissions could have gone haywire on just 2 machines. The user could quite happily create and delete in other folders in Program Files, but not in Recorder Workstation.
