I would find it useful to be able to map records that are filtered in the observation hierarchy. For example if you import a batch of records, save the import filter and view the imported records, it would be good to be able map these samples as a quick grid ref check. Or am I missing something that's there already?

Even when filtered if you drag a Survey to the map you still display all the records in the Survey and not just those filtered. I think, however, you can do what you require with an XML report. If the imported file is saved as a filter file, then the report can be run using the saved filter file. The result can then be displayed on a map. I have attempted a report to do this which has been uploaded to the forum (JNCC_FF1_sample.zip). It needs proper testing with some live data, but in theory it looks as though it should do the job.
