Re: How do you set the date format on Recorder 6

We have just imported a bunch of records into Recorder 6 & the dates have come out in American format i.e. 07/02/1999 for July 2nd 1999.  This only appears on the computer which we used to import the records - on my computer the dates appear normally.  This is the first time we have imported data using this computer, and I can't find anything in the Options to change the date format.  Is it something to do with the computer settings?

We only used this computer the import the data because my colleague's computer refused point blank to import the data.  She was using a template to import the data & it kept on crashing.  I tried to import it using my computer (using her template) & Recorder shut itself down.  We finally managed to import the data using a third computer - but the template was not visible (there weren't any templates available) and when I tried to save a template we got an unhandled error.

What is going on?

Re: How do you set the date format on Recorder 6

Hi Eleanor
Are you saying that if you view the same data on your computer the dates are OK? Also where in Recorder are you viewing these dates - do you mean the sample captions in the Observations Window hierarchy for example?
This sounds a bit like the regional settings on the import computer are wrong. Depending on which version of Windows you have, it will be on the Start Menu, select Control Panel, then Region and Language (may not be exactly this if not on Windows 7). On this dialog you have a drop down to select your Format, make sure it says English (United Kingdom).
