Re: Web service 3.4 - designation information in GetSpeciesList

I just switched my web service from http://www.nbnws.net/ws_3_3/ws/WSDL
to http://www.nbnws.net/ws_3_4/ws/WSDL and it stopped working.

I have so far tracked it to the inclusion of designation="BIODIVERSITY_ACTION_PLAN" or designation="JNCC_COLLATION_OF_TAXON_DESIGNATIONS" within the GetSpeciesList query.

If I remove this from the request I get behaviour consistent with version 3.3.

In wondering if designation had been changed to Designation I tried this, and no matter what value it had it was ignored (and the webservice worked) so I deduced this didn't occur, but it seemed to confirm that designation="BIODIVERSITY_ACTION_PLAN" is no longer valid in 3.4?

Is there a new syntax or new designation codes for use with 3.4? (I think I am consistent with the online documentation).

Thanks, Keith

Re: Web service 3.4 - designation information in GetSpeciesList

Hello Keith

There shouldn't be any difference between the designation codes used in v3.3 and v3.4 of the NBN web services. v3.4 returns addtional attributes (number of records, start and end year and download access status) but this should not affect the designation attribute. I have flagged this to be looked into by the Gateway developers

Best wishes
