Re: Recorder v6.15.4 upgrade issue

Hi,

After installing the v6.15.4 upgrade to a Recorder 6 Server setup on my home standalone PC I get an annoying little problem invoking R6...

If I invoke R6 from the desktop shortcut (which in turn invokes Recorder.exe), I get the new splash logo and login dialogue, I login and then R6 immediately shuts down without going into the application, no errors, no nothing. However, if I invoke RecorderApp.exe from either a shortcut or directly, which bypasses the splash logo, everything is fine!

Incidentally, the R6 upgrade of the NMRS database, a proper server setup, everything is fine.

Intriguing!!  Anyone else experienced this?

Recorder.exe - invokes splash
RecorderApp.exe - no splash

But both are stable.

Hi Matt,

I guessed that is what happens but R6 just won't invoke if I run Recorder.exe on my home PC :)

Re: Recorder v6.15.4 upgrade issue

Hi Les

The Recorder.exe file is pretty simple, it just displays the splash logo, then starts the RecorderApp.exe file. The only difference between doing this and starting RecorderApp.exe is that RecorderApp.exe will then send a message back to the splash screen asking it to close itself when loading and login is complete. So, presumably this is the bit of code that is crashing Recorder for you.

I will see if I can get access to the latest source code to see if there are any changes in this area recently and will let you know when I find out more.
Best Wishes
