Re: MapMate to Recorder 6 data transfer (revisited)

Hi all,

With reference to the "MapMate to Recorder 6 data transfer" document, specifically the section headed "Exporting to a particular Recorder user for the first time": 9. Type a dummy CUK...

I get a pop-up window returned - "Replicator: You entered 'xxx'... This is a reserved CUK. Test use only. CUK not allowed." From this point no further progress can be made.

It seems with MapMate Replicator v2.2.1 (and possibly some previous versions of the Replicator?) the ability to use CUKs in the 000-01z range as dummy CUKs has been withdrawn since the document was written. I'm presuming there is no workaround here but fortunately I have my own private CUK, so I'll use this which in theory should be fine.

Has anyone else experienced this or any other issues with respect to MapMate -> Recorder 6 transfers recently?

Best wishes,
Les.

I use xyz, but it might be worth asking Technica for an 'official' answer. We can then update the document.

Re: MapMate to Recorder 6 data transfer (revisited)

Hi Charles,

I subsequently edited the registry settings (\\HKCU\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\MapMate\User<cuk>) to change ‘Partner’ to a CUK within the 000-01z range to workaround the problem and this worked fine too.

I'll email Teknica to see what they think and their stance here.

Best wishes,
Les.

Charles,

Teknica suggest the global cuk 'zzz' for use as a dummy cuk.

Re: MapMate to Recorder 6 data transfer (revisited)

This is most useful but the document still says one can use the dummy test CUK range. I too found the problem and had to fake an acceptable CUK in the hope that it would never actually be used.

Having just finished exporting data from MapMate I will now need to go back and create an export to ZZZ assuming that this still works as I see this is a very old thread.

Tony

ZZZ does still work and it listed as 'MM-Web Archive' in the partner list.
