Re: Document sources propagated from parent in hierarchy

Depending on how data are entered/imported it can be a pain to add document links to taxon occurrences.  This is particularly so for legacy data from previous Recorder versions when importing data didn't allow you to import sources.  How about the ability to propagate taxon occurrences with sources from a higher level (e.g a Survey) i.e. link the document source at the survey level and allocate all taxon occurrences with that source.  I'm sure this could be done via SQL or a batch update but I don't have time to investigate this.

Re: Document sources propagated from parent in hierarchy

Mark, this is a feature that Mike Weideli wrote a R2K2 utility for HerefordshireBRC: perhaps it could be replicated for R6. The utility populates taxon occurences without Docuemtns with a Document where this occurs at the Sample level. If absent from the Sample then the utility uses any Document applied to the Survey. It works well aprt from the obvious point that it functions outside of R2K2. Steve

Anyone got a batch update to do the job?
