Re: Report Wizard problem

I am using a standalone version of Recorder 2002 version 2.3.7.8.

I need to extract all the vascular plant records from the database (around 300,000 records).  I have put a rucksack together containing all the vascular plants from the Recorder 3.3. checklist – 6913 species.  As a test, I have drawn a very small bounding box – approx. 1km x 1km.

On running the query in the Report Wizard however I receive the following error message.

“The size of the query used to generate your report is exceeding the maximum limit set by Access and as such cannot be executed.”

Are there too many species in the rucksack?  I have used a similar method to successfully extract all the bird records, but as there were only c. 1000 species in the rucksack in that instance, I can only think that the rucksack size is the problem.

Thanks,

Francesca

Re: Report Wizard problem

Hi Francesca

It's a while since I used it, but I think Recorder 2002 had a limit of about 2000 items in a filter due to limits in Access queries. Perhaps you could try splitting the rucksack in 4 and doing it a piece at a time?

Re: Report Wizard problem

Hi John

Thank you - I've chopped the rucksack into 4 and it's working perfectly!
