Re: Taxons Not Found

As noted in a previous thread http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=1343 I found species without duplicates unresolved by the search button but found manually. I have now found genus that does not get found.

When searching 'unrestricted' for Cladophora or Enteromorpha only specifics, family or orders are found but the genus is not. I need to record the genus sp. Searching manually I can drill down through ALGAE A coded list.... and find and return the genus.

Why does the unrestricted search seem to not search unrestricted?

Re: Taxons Not Found

I can find Cladophora when I search the dictionary using 'unrestricted' (note: it's usually easier to use the 'preferred' option - have you already tried that?).

If you know you're searching for a genus, then putting [gen] after the search can narrow it down:

If I search for "Cladophora [gen]" using the 'preferred checklists' option, it finds two results, one in the ALGAE dictionary and one in the SEAWEED dictionary, which is why it can't make the match automatically, I think.
