Re: Exporting records from a tagged survey

A colleague and I maintain duplicate copies of a survey and export records to each other to keep them up to date. On my system the survey has a survey tag, but not on his. When I export records to him the import fails with the message "unexpected table 'SURVEY_TAG' in import file. Import aborted".

Does this mean that anyone I export records to will have to have survey tags enabled?

Re: Exporting records from a tagged survey

The Survey_Tag table shoudln't export and doesn't in a standard Survey export from 6.14.4.212.  Is this an error introduced in the latest version or something which happens with a specific method of exporting ?

Re: Exporting records from a tagged survey

I've played around with this some more, and it seems that the survey tag is only included in the export when transfer of custody is selected. Four extra tables are included - concept, meaning, survey tag and term.

I haven't yet taken the latest upgrade so the version is 6.14.4.212, using the Export Data function.

This looks like a fault.  To overcome the  problem  unzip the exported database and remove these tables then zip it again. This should solve the problem, while it is looked at properly.

Re: Exporting records from a tagged survey

This is an old problem but we have just hit it again.

Exporting records without transferring custody doesn't include the survey tag, but with transfer of custody the survey tags are included in the export file and the import to the receiving system falls over as a result. The solution is to remove all survey tags before exporting, or manually remove that table from the NBNZip file, both of which are tedious and I always forget to do them.

After 4 years, is there any chance of this getting fixed in a future release?
