I have just tried to install Recorder 6 onto a new Windows 7 machine. The workstation set-up appeared to work but Recorder will not get past the splash screen before throwing up an exception:
An error occured whilst starting the application.
EOleException:Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

It's been a while since I installed a workstation, but don't remember having to configure the machine particularly other than making sure the database setting in the registry was pointing to the correct SQL server instance - which it is.
What have I missed?

Hi Dave
I had this problem yesterday with an XP machine. You have to set up a new login in SQL. Mike Weideli talked me through the process and I wrote down some notes afterwards to remind me the next time I did an install. I could email my notes to you if you want.

I'm obviously being really dense here, but I still can't get the Windows 7 workstation to run Recorder.
The error message I'm getting is still the same:
EOleException:Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
How do I select the user for machine in question to stop it being null? I successfully created a system DSN for the Recorder database, so I know that it at least possible to connect to it using SQL Authentication, but the 'trusted connection' option gives the error above.  This makes sense as I've used SQL Authentication on the other machines, but what doesn't make sense is that according to the registry this workstation should also be using SQL Authentication! so why is it giving the error for the trusted connection?
