Re: Can't get rid of R2002/R6 installed on same machine message

When I had Recorder 2002 and Recorder 6 on the same computer, with the latter being evaluated, every time I started R6 I got the standard message after entering the password...."You currently have Recorder2002 and Recorder6 installed on this machine......." etc etc. I eventually went over to R6 as my active database and some time later (last week actually) uninstalled R2002. R2002 has now been completely removed (I suppose). However, I still get the above message every time I log into R6. What tells the system that both programs are installed on the same machine?? I assume there is a file lurking somewhere that should have been removed during the R2002 uninstall process. Can anyone throw any light on this? I am currently running a network version of v 6.14.4.212 on a stand-alone machine (don't even ask), operating on the dreaded Vista. To keep getting this message on R6 startup is annoying rather than being a serious problem.......apart from this R6 is working perfectly if a little slowly in some areas, which I put down to the operating system.

Re: Can't get rid of R2002/R6 installed on same machine message

Hi Bob

This message is displayed when the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JNCC\Recorder is still present in the registry. This folder should really have been removed by the uninstallation, but it is safe to remove it manually assuming you really did mean to uninstall Recorder 2002. Make sure you don't remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JNCC\Recorder 6 registry key though!
