Not sure if this is a bug, or if I am mistaken.

I have just had a first stab at producing a snapshot using the snapshot tool and have got a result which is not what I expected.

The documentation in the help file is not all that informative, but what I was expecting was for the data selected by the Report Wizard to be copied into a new table in the database. The result produced has the same number of records as the wizard output (they are the same occurrences), but the fields it displays are different, most of the intended fields are there, along with a lot in which I have no interest, but some important fields are missing.

I asked the wizard for all occurrences of taxa with statuses (from a set which I have created locally, all of which are system supplied except for a county notable status which I have added). The report includes a field showing all relevant statuses for each selected occurrence, but this field doesn't appear in the snapshot. The snapshot does include a number of fields which I don't need, including Sample key, survey event key etc.

Since my aim was to produce an easily updateable table in the database which I can open in MapInfo to provide a layer of notable records, with their statuses, the snapshot tool has failed me.

I know I can export the wizard result & then import into MapInfo to achieve the result I want, but I am trying to make the process as simple as possible to save time for future updates.

Any suggestions?
