I want to report on all butterflies in the DB. There is a checklist in the taxon dictionary - 'BRC - record card RA52 - Lepidoptera: butterflies' - which looks like it should do the trick, but it is not available in the drop-down from the report wizard (I notice that many other BRC recording cards are also missing from this).

So I've two questions:

1. Why are the lists of checklists different between the dictionary and the report wizard?
2. What's the easiest way for me to report on all butterflies?

Hi Richard

There is a flag in the dictionary data Taxon_List table called Local_Disk which is set to zero for the lists that can'e be selected in the Report Wizard. That's the simple answer, but having said that I don't actually know why this flag should be set to zero for any lists since it harks back to the days when checklists could be left on the installation CD in Recorder 2002.

Lynn, do you know why this flag should be set to zero for some lists, and if they are deliberately excluded from reporting?

You could try the list LEPIDOPTERA Checlist of Lepidoptera recorded from the British Isles.. list. Note that it has a space in the beginning of the name so appears near the top of the drop down list, not in apparent alphabetical order!

Nice one John. I set the flag and successfully used the checklist in the report wizard. I wanted a list for butterflies rather than general Lepidoptera because I couldn't see a simple way of excluding all moths from the latter. :)
