Hi

I updated both copies of R6 (one on a laptop, one on a desktop) and updated the indexes (indices?) but find that running reports now takes much longer, even for a short report from not a large database. This is a backwards move from the previous version. Is there any particular reason for this and can anything be done to speed up the process? I find it disconcerting when R6 doesn't seem to be doing anything and Task Manager says 'Not responding'.

Any suggestions about how to make reporting quicker?

Hi Ian,

Are you running particular reports when it is very slow/not responding ie designations or is it all reports? Report wizard or xml reports or both? If there is a particular type of report you are running this might help us track down why it is slower - perhaps the queries have become more complicated for example.

Hi Lynn

Sorry, I wasn't very specific. I ran a report from the Wizard, specifying the county, for one report I chose only two species (not a rucksack, or all taxa in list) and the output was a few standard fields. The report took much longer than with the previous version of R6.
