Re: NBN Exchange- Problem with record dates after export

Hi all,
As far as I’ve searched the forum, no one seems to have encountered the following problem with using the NBN Exchange Add-in:

We have Recorder version 6.13.3 and the latest NBN Exchange Add-in 6.13.2.24. We have used the add-in tool before to export data to the NBN and that was successful.
However, in exporting two datasets now we have noticed in the relevant txt files that came with the export that for a certain number of records the dates were altered by one day.

For example if the record had a date within our Recorder system 25/10/1993 that came out in the export as start date & end date 26/10/1993. It is always the day after the record date. We thought that could be an odd case but checked thoroughly through our two dataset txt files and found more and more records like this. This happens to records that have a complete date format as DD/MM/YYYY, and not to MM/YYYY or YYYY.

Please if anyone has encountered this before and could suggest something it would be very much appreciated. Meanwhile people should be alerted that this may be happening in their dataset exports and it can go easily unnoticed within thousands of records.

Hi Agni,

Many thanks for flagging this up to us. We have not heard of this one so far and are now looking into it.

Thanks,
Lynn

Re: NBN Exchange- Problem with record dates after export

Hello Agni

I have looked into this and the NBN Exchange Addin does add an extra day to the date during export. It seems to be around how it handles leap years in that it seems to occur only for dates from March 1st onwards in leap years only. When I ran my test non leap years seem OK. I have let JNCC know about this and hope it will be corrected as soon as poss.

Best wishes

Re: NBN Exchange- Problem with record dates after export

Hi Lynn and Graham

Thank you very much both for looking into this.
Graham, I am relieved you found out that this is actually happening, as we spent hours trying to find what's going wrong and after a point we didn't want to believe our eyes..!
I guess there will be an update of the exchange add-in. Meanwhile do you suggest we continue using the existing add-in?

Many Thanks,
Agni

Re: NBN Exchange- Problem with record dates after export

I wonder how many records are affected by this? Is a record kept of Recorder and Addin version when submitting data?

Re: NBN Exchange- Problem with record dates after export

Is there any news on this?

We are waiting to export several large datasets to the Gateway but can't release them if there are going to be problems with the dates. As soon as the datasets go public our recorders will all check their own data and I don't want to have to deal with a flood of complaints!
