Re: UPGRADE TO 6.14 ERROR then TIMED OUT

Ive just run the upgrade to 6.14.

Received similar notices about the upgrade to the linked access database not possible...! fair enough.

then got an error of:
recorder Application upgrade
error occurred running script 00000007E.sql.
the error is described as:
violation of Primary key constraint 'PK_IW_Table_rule_generating_Field'.
Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'IW_Table_Rule_related_Field'

Then the upgrade seemed to stop.
15 mins later.
Task Manager said that the application upgrade was running (rather than not responding) - but there was no obvious CPU activity.

I logged into the database through SQL which seemed to allow me to do it, the new tables existed. THis suggested to me that the upgrade had occurred.
I closed the Recorder upgrade dialogue and opened recorder which SEEMS fine. Version 6.14.4

Should I worry about anything?
Should I try the upgrade again?
Do I need to edit the IW_Table_Rule_related_Field table?

thanks

MAtt

Having said that - the SETTING table in SQL still has the version number as 6.13.3.182!

Re: UPGRADE TO 6.14 ERROR then TIMED OUT

Hi Matt,

Apologies for the dealy in getting to your post.
I understand that the issue is probably specific to your database. The script 7E adds records to IW_Table_Rule_related_Field.  For some reason your database seems to already have items in this table with the same key (perhaps as part of another manual change) which is what has caused this error.

You should review script 7E to check against the items already in the table and then either change script 7E or the table data if there is dual use of keys. And then presumably rerun the script to make sure all the other changes have been incorporated.

Hope this helps,
Lynn

Re: UPGRADE TO 6.14 ERROR then TIMED OUT

Thanks Lynn.

It seems to be stable and since the dictionary upgrade, the version number has rectified itself in the Settings table, so I think we are good.
