Re: Missing Taxon Occurrences in Heirarchy

Several Taxon Occurrences are not showing up in the Heirachy despite being present in the database.
When using the 'GoTo Key' addin, I get a 'Recorderapp' dialogue box stating: Error showing "LC00021500006KBJ".
Error:GetItem:List index out of bounds (%d)

The records were entered in 2007 and I have no idea whether this is a new problem or one that has simply gone unnoticed until now.

We're running 6.13.3.182.

Re: Missing Taxon Occurrences in Heirarchy

Have you checked whether these have taxon determinations? When testing v6.14, I got the List index out of bounds error when trying to view taxon occurrences without determinations from the filter result in the report wizard. They arose from data entry that caused an unhandled error. The survey event, sample and taxon occurrence were created but not the determination.

Without a det. there is no taxon name to be displayed. The problem is that without a det. there is nothing to select to view or delete it. Also, you can’t delete the sample because it contains a TOcc. I think that if a TOcc has no Tdet or if its TDet contains a taxon list item key that isn’t in the dictionary then this should appear in the observation hierarchy with ‘Taxon name not available’ in place of the name. I suggested this to JNCC as part of the v6.14 testing. This would allow users to view and/or delete these items.

Re: Missing Taxon Occurrences in Heirarchy

Sally,

The problem seems to have been with records with the determination entered as 'Chiroptera'. I've no idea why this taxa should have been problematic, but rebuilding the taxon indexes has solved it and another problem that I had thought to be unrelated.

Thanks,
Dave
