here is a dilemma,

an individual naturalist who does quite a bit of recording in the area changes their surname.  As far as I can tell there is no simple answer to this in Recorder6.  Three options come to mind; I have to make a whole new entry for future records, which does not have a link to their former name (or does it - let me know if so), I make a new entry and then merge the old one in - but is the old name retained on the records pre name-change?  or, thirdly, which I would NEVER do - change the surname on the existing entry - obviously wrong as that would not bew the name in the records pre name-change...

What has happened in other R6 databases - it must surely have happened before - marriage, divorce, etc, etc.
