Following on from my previously posted problem which I have yet to solve, I created the Excel file I was trying to import again and was eventually able to get beyond the first page of the import without getting the error message.  However, once Recorder had read the file it claimed it had 2,889 records in it when it was more like 5,000.  I carried on and was able to import the file successfully, but it is definitely missing the 2,000 odd records.

At no point was there an error message, and there were no invalid records.  This file was created from an access database from which all the other files imported successfully, so I don't understand why its behaving differently.  Has anyone else experienced this?
