Re: Names and Addresses sorting

I have several enhancements in relation to the display of names and addresses:

1) I would like to be able to both customise the name format in the tree (and in the search panel) - it is very annoying when I have (for example) - two 'John Smiths' one is J.R.Smith, the other is J.L.Smith - there doesn't appear to be a way of distinguishing these in searches or the tree, without actually clicking on each entry because Initials are ignored, also if there are 2 'Chris Smith' one is Mr Smith and the other is Mrs (or Miss) there is again no way to distinguish in searches

2) I would like to be able to sort the tree view in alphabetical order of SURNAME - at the moment T.Smith is nowhere near Tom Smith - making searching for duplicates difficult

3) The old facility from Recorder 3 of searching on Initials doesn't seem to work any longer - this was very useful and quick method of finding people

Re: Names and Addresses sorting

I've though of another useful facility:

4) If a person is associated with an organisation, this is not presently reflected in the Organisation entry - i.e. under the organisation, it does not automatically list the person as associated - this reverse lookup should be automatic!

Thanks, I have logged this on the database for future possible enhancements.

Re: Names and Addresses sorting

Lynn,

Forget the sort alphabetically by SURNAME, just found out this can be done already (DOH!) - via right hand mouse button

OK, thanks for the update - that will save me a bit of time when I get to it.
