Re: Installation onto SQL Server

One of the enhancements in v.6.9.3 listed by Charles Roper back on 12 December 2006 is the ability to install directly to SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2005 Express. I don't understand how this would work if this version is only available as an upgrade to an existing installation of Recorder 6 - which appears to be the case. Can someone enlighten me please (before I embark - with soem trepidation - on the upgrade.

Many thanks

Re: Installation onto SQL Server

As far as I understand it, this is one of the features that would have been available on the CD version of 6.9.3 which was due out about now, but is not now coming out (see Announcements, about 25/1 from Sarah).

Thanks a lot Gordon, I missed this. I've just gone back to that thread with a question for Charles.

Re: Installation onto SQL Server

Hello All,
my system administrator asked me, if I would expect some problems, if our server was changed from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 64. So I forward this question to you. Has anybody changed to SQL Server 2005 64 and can tell me anything about problems or no problems? Would you expect some?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Wolfgang

Re: Installation onto SQL Server

We changed from 2000 to 2005 some time back and haven't had any real problems. I don't see that you should have any problems with the 64 bit version. However, I've not tried it myself, so I couldn't categorically state that it would work without problem.
