Hello All, Record (The LRC for Cheshire) are currently in the middle of an extensive validation exercise where our dataset is being accessed by local experts to check through the data.

During this process we have found that there are some gaps in our knowledge base, but for many orders/groups there are eager established recorders who were looking to specialise. One proposed answer to this problem is a mentor system in which interested recorders, of specific orders/groups, could approach a willing expert to act as a mentor. Using this method I hope it will be possible to build expertise in our area and help spread the knowldege base through our ranks.

Can I ask, perhaps naively, has anyone else tried this approach and what were the outcomes?
