Re: reports to save 'Additional filters'

I think this has been requested previously but...

Can we have the report file, that one loads up in the report wizard, saving the additional Filters, which currently have to be re-entered each time you call on a report.

Hi Matt,

Thanks, this is logged but could you give a little more detail (I can't picture exactly what you mean at the moment).

Cheers,

Re: reports to save 'Additional filters'

Detail, detail.

I want to return records from 1980 onwards within our standard searches.

Through the report wizard we go and get to the 'Layout Selection' where the 'Additional filters' option exists.

I specify the date filter for the search then specify the report template.

We go through the rest and report out the other end.
If you save the template - the additional filters dont save.

So every time I run that report, I have to specify the filter again - and if I had a lot of filters to specify - it might become a little tedious.

Whats slightly odd is that the constraints are coded into the template (i.e. the zero abundance, unchecked, invalid data options), while the filters aren't.

Yep, I've often wished for this feature too. I've always thought it odd that the Additional Filters aren't saved.

Re: reports to save 'Additional filters'

Thank you for the explanation - that does seem strange if its allowing to save the rest as a template - I will add to the uppermost end of the wishlist!

Re: reports to save 'Additional filters'

Hi,

This was raised again at the recent user group meeting and I agree would be a desirable enhancement. We have finally got it costed: unfortunately it is one of those ones that at the moment it is prohibitively expensive. Yes, I know you would think it was relatively straightforward to save them but it turns out to be quite complicated and would cost an estimate (from Dorset software) of between £5000 and £10,000 to do!

So, Sorry, for the moment it doesn't seem very possible - but it will remain on the future wishlist list.
