Re: Displaying Location Names in the Obs Hierarchy

Can someone on a version of Recorder 6 prior to 6.13 check something out for me? In the observation hierarchy if you have an Event or Sample with no Location but you do have a Location Name for it, does it display the Location Name next to the date of the Sample and/or Event?

Recorder 6.13 does not display the Location Name in the absence of a Location and instead it displays the grid ref. I could have sworn it used to display the Location Name...

Re: Displaying Location Names in the Obs Hierarchy

In v6.10.4.120, survey event names are ‘date’ – ‘location’ if survey event location isn’t blank; or ‘date’ – ‘spatial ref’ if it is. Sample names are ‘date’ – ‘sample type’.

In v6.13.2.176, survey event names are the same but sample names are ‘date’ – ‘location’ – ‘sample type’ if sample location isn’t blank; or ‘date’ – ‘spatial ref’ – ‘sample type’ if it is.

Re: Displaying Location Names in the Obs Hierarchy

Charles,

The same results occur for 6.9.3.102 as Sally describes above for 6.10.... Perhaps it's a much older version?

Re: Displaying Location Names in the Obs Hierarchy

There was a specification change for the way that sample node captions are constructed for version 6.13. Version 6.10 and previous versions should indeed all behave the same in this respect.
