Re: NBN Exchange Format

I'm trying to use the NBN Exchange addin with no success - I keep receiving the following error

Exception occurred in application Recorder 6 at 11/06/2008 11:36:20.
Version : 6.10.4.120

Exception path:
EOleException : ODBC--call failed

Last event\actions:
  actReportWizard invoked
  TfrmFilterResult created
  TfrmFilterResult activated
  TdlgWizard created
  actExport invoked

Operating System : Windows XP  5.01.2600  Service Pack 2
Physical Memory available : 1,046,956 KB

Has anybody any ideas what might cause this - and more importantly is there something I can do which will allow me to export data using the NBN Exchange format?

Cheers

Re: NBN Exchange Format

Do you have a large database? I also have this problem and I tracked it down to an ODBC timeout caused by us having a large amount of data to process. At least, that's what I reckoned it was after doing much testing. I reported it back to Steve and Stuart at JNCC some time ago now, so hopefully a fixed version should be forthcoming.

Steve, any idea when we'll get a new version?

Charles

We have a new version almost ready and will be included as part of the next release.

Re: NBN Exchange Format

Hi Charles

I've gone down the route of using SQL Server Management Express, which is able to produce tab-delimited files that I can run through the NBN validator successfully so I'll use that solution for now. There may be other benefits to this like scheduling queries to run on a regular basis for updates but for now I'll be concentrating on just uploading an initial batch of varied taxa to NBN.

Re: NBN Exchange Format

Hi - I have been looking for this NBN Exchange Add-in but cannot find one - we have Recorder 6.10.4....
should it be a standard add-in (does not appear in my list of add-insinstalled or to be installed ) or do I need to go somewhere to find it on a disc or website?

Re: NBN Exchange Format

Hello Louise

The Recorder 6 NBN Exchange Addin can be found in the addins table on the Recorder website (http://forums.nbn.org.uk/recorderWebsite/Addins.htm). Its currently 2nd from the bottom in the table. Note this addin only works with version 6.13 of Recorder. If you are using an earlier version you will need to update to 6.13 to use the addin

Re: NBN Exchange Format

Thanks - so the one mentioned in the previous posts being used in earlier versions of R6 is no longer available, I presume.  Oh well.
