Topic: Show 'Dynamic properties' in the 'View record' page

To see 'Dynamic properties' for a record, the user currently has to click button 'Compare "original vs. processed" values' and look in the 'Occurrence' set of fields for Field name 'Dynamic properties'.

Could it instead be shown either raw, or better still unpacked into property/value rows, in the 'View record' page?

Example: https://records.nbnatlas.org/occurrence … 66660bb415 has a 'Dynamic properties' field but this is only shown after pressing the button and scrolling down in hope.

Apologies for the lack of response to this post. Currently Dynamic properties is not a stored or indexed field in the NBN Atlas, so I assume this is why you can only find this field and it's raw values in the 'Compare original vs processed' table.

However, we will be switching to data pipelines to process data on the NBN Atlas. With data pipelines all fields will be stored and indexed (i.e., become searchable), and this may effect which fields are displayed on the 'View record' page. We are currently in the process testing data pipelines. I will include a test record with a supplied value for the Dynamic properties field to test if this will be shown on the 'View record' page with data pipelines.

I will get back to you with the outcome. Apologies again for the lack of reply and thank you for your feedback.

Hello David,

I just wanted to make you aware that after the switch to the new data infrastructure in December, the Dynamic properties field is now showing on the 'View record' page. Note that it is the raw field text which is displayed, rather than the fields being unpacked, but hopefully this is still an improvement from the field not being easily visible before.

Thank you, Rhiann. I confirm that this is working. This makes review much easier.

Where should I raise a separate issue that, although correct in NBN-a, the dynamicProperties values currently being passed to GBIF by NBN-a are stripped of the double-quotes that are required by DwC format?

Thank you for raising that issue, David. I have put in a request to the development team to check the file we prepare for GBIF to pick up, to see if the quotes are being removed on our end or by GBIF.

I will let you know when we have identified where the issue is occurring.
