Topic: Most values for individualCount are not being exported

Exports in Full DwC (and probably Simple) format from dr731 are not exporting any values other than "1" in the individualCount column of the output CSV. All other values export as Null. This seriously compromises the usefulness of our data resource.

We use values "Present", 1 and abundance ranges 2-5 etc. but with a special character instead of a minus sign, in an attempt to avoid confusing Excel: The char is '–' which is En Dash (U+2013 = Alt+0150).

Surely the NBN Atlas download feature should export whatever values are in the fields, not police them itself.

I don't think this is likely to be a new problem caused by the new Pipelining code.

The problem is likely to affect anyone else using slightly non-standard abundance values.

Re: Most values for individualCount are not being exported

Hello David,

Thank you for taking the time to flag this issue. I have flagged this issue with the NBN Atlas development team and will let you know when it has been resolved.

Please note that the NBN Atlas development team are working on data processing this week, and then working on updating the UKSI on the NBN Atlas. So, there may be a delay in this issue being resolved.

We apologise for this issue and for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Rhiann

Re: Most values for individualCount are not being exported

Thank you, Rhiann. I hope the problem will be fixed soon but if this is unlikely then I really need to know what are the legal Abundance values that can currently be downloaded, so that I can supply these instead of my 'helpful' values in the updated file that I will send you in March.
As above, the values I currently supply are:  Present, 1, 2–5, 6–20, 21–100, 101–500, 501+ (all as Text).
