Hi

Have a look at FAQ  https://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=6403.

Re: Recorder 6 won't start

Stopping and starting the SQL Service has not fixed this for me (also problems accessing the OLE registry). My SQL Server Express version is a little old (2018) so it may be an idea to upgrade it. Is Recorder OK with SQL Server Express 2022 or should I get an earlier version?

Re: Recorder 6 won't start

I still can't open Recorder after the latest Windows 11 update due to the error accessing the OLE registry. Stopping and starting the service has not helped. I may have to go through a reinstall process? If so which SQLServer Express version - is 2022 Ok? Is there a latest installer of Recorder? I am on 6.30.1.292

Re: Recorder 6 won't start

Went into Services - tried a restart on SQL - Services list indicated SQL running - still wouldn't work - same OLE Registry message - tried again - ditto - then tried Run as Administrator and R6 opened ! - came out of R6 - tried logging back in normally and worked. So can't really explain how the system rectified itself. Rather reluctant to allow MS updates in the future. Thanks Mike for directing me to the Windows 11 Services feature.
