Topic: Location given NA74

NA74 Flannan Islands (west coast of Lewis Outer Hebrides) these are included in VC110 Outer Hebrides, but records are not included when I use the Watsonian VC filter when searching for records.
Please can you fix this.

Hi Christine,
Thanks for letting me know about the error. It does look like the Flannan Islands are not included in the VC boundaries that we have on Atlas. We will look for VC spatial data that includes the Islands.

They don't appear in the digitized vice-county polygons so were presumably not included (for whatever reason). Probably worth updating this thread: https://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=4319

Does the local authority Na h-Eileanan an Iar cover the same area as the Outer Hebrides VC? https://scotland-regions.nbnatlas.org/L … speciesTab

I am trying to find out how we can update the VC boundaries and will let you know once I have more information, and update the thread that Charlie mentions.

Hi Sophie,
The local authority map covers all the outlying islands but for some reason it is not showing any records for the Flannan Islands, perhaps you just need to check whether the Flannans have been assigned to Na h-Eileanan an Iar.
