I've just debugged an error "The data types text and varchar are incompatible in the not equal to operator" that appeared during the validate step when importing a spreadsheet using the import wizard.  The error was caused by one of the spreadsheet cell values containing hundreds of trailing spaces (in this case it was the Taxon Name column).  I've attached the error file.

The obvious solution is to remove the trailing spaces and try again, but I was wondering if it would be possibly for the import wizard to automatically trim any trailing spaces from all fields before performing the validate step?  The current error message is obviously not very helpful and, as many people are importing data from a wider variety of sources (over which we have little or no control), it would save users needing to manually check and edit every spreadsheet before importing them into R6.
