Topic: Common names inconsistency

There are some common name inconsistencies across the Atlas. Compare chiffchaff in:

- https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NHMSYS0000530749 and
- https://lists.nbnatlas.org/speciesListI … r1839#list

The species pages appear to be taken the first in the list and the species list appears to be taking the last.

And see also https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NHMSYS0000530633 ; again it appears to be taking the first common name which happens to be scots gaelic ?

Re: Common names inconsistency

Hi Charlie,
Yes, the common name display is not consistent. At the moment there doesn't seem to be a way to tell the Atlas to use the preferred common name. We are looking to resolve this as soon as possible.

Many thanks, Sophie

Re: Common names inconsistency

Lots of Gaelic names appearing in the Common Name field when using the analyse tools to view a species list for an area.
