Topic: Kml overlays

Out of interest has anyone tried adding a kml overlay to an iform reporting page? I appreciate iforms already have the facility to display layers from WMS but it would be handy to be able to display a kml alongside reported data.

I haven't tried this. Indicia uses the OpenLayers mapping library v2.13 which does support KML so it should be relatively easy I think. Examples for this old version of OpenLayers are a bit scarce so here is a link to one, https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions … openlayers

Thanks Jim, i might have a play with this and let you know. I'm assuming i wont be able to do this via the prebuilt iforms though as a copy would need to be sat on your server?

Re: Kml overlays

You might be able to test the principle by adding JavaScript to customise an existing report page using the method described in http://indicia-docs.readthedocs.io/en/l … ality.html

The nicer thing to do would be to develop the prebuilt form so that you can configure it to add KML layers in the same way you can add WMS layers at present. You can develop this locally. As long as I am understanding your intention correctly there is no change needed on the warehouse. If you take this route it would be good to share by adding it to the Github repository.

Sounds like a plan.
