Topic: Species record card - problem

Hello,
I am typing in some individual records by hand (not done this for ages). I am using the supplied Species record Data Entry form (Enter a species record). When I type something in the comments field (the large area at the bottom of the form) it does not save it. I have double checked this (twice).
This used to work. I have loaded lots of individual records, with field observation comments in the past!
I am on R6 version 6.24

I have found that this was reported  in 2012, but we couldn't duplicate the problem. At  the time it looked as though the data was being saved, but wasn't showing in the Observation hierarchy until this was closed and  reopened. Could you check to see if this is what is happening to you.  If so the comments should  show on the records you have entered if you now open the   Observation hierarchy and look at them again.

You are quite right, this morning the comments fields are filled! Also, I can edit them which I couldn't do yesterday (at least not the one's I had newly entered).
Very odd but presubably something to do with working on a networked system.

Philippa,

I've noticed (and I thought I'd reported it) that if you open the Records hierarchy WHILE the 'Enter a Species Record' window is still open, then the comments field for taxon occurrences is both empty and not editable, but closing the windows and reopening the Records hierarchy normally fixes everything
