Topic: Computer in sleep mode

Had a problem with a big import of records

The computer didn't recognise that Recorder was running and went into sleep mode - when awakened, the import appeared to have 'stuck' the progress bar did not move for over 30mins

Is there a way to ensure the computer 'knows' Recorder is running a job and not switch off!

I don't know if this is possible, but will investigate. Recorder should  continue running even  if the computer goes into sleep mode, however, when you come out of it the screen may not refresh and even if the task has finished this may not  be apparent.  Try using Ctr/Alt/Del  and starting task Manager - no need to stop anything . This will force the computer to refresh the screen and you may find that the task has completed. I have recently seen this  on a dictionary upgrade.

I did start task manager after the restart and it said Recorder was using c25% of the processor, but there appeared to be no progress in the import for over half an hour at which point I killed the process and re-ran it which appeared to go OK and completed in about half an hour
