Re: Adding new taxa

Hi

I am wondering if there is a generally accepted process for adding extra taxa into the dictionaries, that don't already appear on any lists. The help suggests that you create the taxon and then merge them into the system supplied taxon when it appears in a dictionary update. Is it possible to create my own dictionary/list to put any new taxa into? This would mean that when it comes to a dictionary update I can easily find any of my additional taxa to check them against the new dictionaries. Or is it relatively easy to locate user-defined taxa by other methods?

Thanks

Re: Adding new taxa

I usually put user defined taxa into the Recorder 3 dictionary at the top level; i.e., not within the hierarchy, otherwise they become rather tricky to track down again. It's possible to query the database to find them, though. I think you could use the system_supplied field.
