Topic: Instant Indicia status?

Hi. Am I right in thinking that Instant Indicia modules for Drupal 8 are now good to go?

In which case someone might want to update the Drupal 6/7 advisory message at the top of the main Indicia Docs web page and elsewhere.

Incidentally, there's a 404 on the old Google Code Archive redirect which gets linked in a few places.

I can see John van Breda has made a first releases of the IForm module at https://github.com/Indicia-Team/drupal- … m/releases and some work has been carried out on https://github.com/Indicia-Team/drupal- … a_features but without any release as yet. The fact that he has done a release indicates that he has some confidence in it. I have no direct knowledge of it myself and have not tried Drupal 8 at all yet.

If you can provide urls to the pages where documentation needs updating that would be very helpful. Better still if you can correct it and submit a pull request :-)

Hi Jim. Thanks for the info.

I don't seem to have the necessary permissions to post URLs to the forum unfortunately.

I guess it makes sense to wait for John to complete his work before updating the messaging. I'm afraid I have little experience with GitHub, but will work on that...

Hi Dom,

I can post URLs but wasn't aware of having special permissions. Maybe it is a consequence of being such a veteran. Perhaps if you remove the http:// from the URL it will fool the filters in to thinking you are posting normal text.

All help with improving the documentation (and code) is gratefully received.

No, I tried a bunch of different methods, including removing the prefix, wrapping them in BB quotes and stripping slashes, but I still get the message:

"Too more [sic] links in message. Allowed 0 links. Reduce number of links and post it again."

Anyway, the redirect to the 404 is on your old Google Code Archive home page and the main Drupal messaging is on the Instant Indicia index page linked from the indicia[dot]org[dot]uk home page.

From an issue queue for iRecord which uses Indicia on Drupal 7, John has just written

Current status of Indicia [Drupal 8] code is that the core functionality does work (and is being used live by ERCCIS) but there are still some aspects of functionality (less frequently used forms and edge cases) which are not ported properly.
Another thing to consider is that many Drupal modules are still in the early stages with respect to D8 - some are not ported, some are still not stable.
