Re: Import Wizard failure

Hello

Having trialled an Excel import successfully on my standalone testing version, I have now attempted to import the same file into my live networked version.  This works well until it gets to the point of validating the data where it fails with the following error.

Exception occurred in application Recorder 6 at 07/01/2008 10-17-03.
Version : 6.10.4.120

I assume it is looking for the StdValLib.dll at this point?  Trying to reinstall this addin produced the following warning

"The addin could not be installed for the following reason
Error 32. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

followed by

"The following file was not installed: StdValLib
The object you tried to install did not  contain any valid Recorder 6 addins."

My IT help have checked the registry etc., and think that everything looks OK, so does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks

Re: Import Wizard failure

Hello

I am continuing to investigate why this isn't working.  Could anyone who does have the import wizard working on a networked setup of R6 reply with an indication of where their system is looking for the StdValLib.dll, so that I can check my settings.

Thanks

Re: Import Wizard failure

I believe the 'StdValLib.dll' file should be in the 'Addins' folder of your R6 installation, on the server it that is of any use.

Re: Import Wizard failure

StdValLib.dll is on a network drive in its default installation location for us: T:\Recorder 6 Server\Addins\StdValLib.dll. It is registered as a class in the registry with a UNC path: \\SERVER-02\Data$\SWTBRC\Recorder 6 Server\Addins\StdValLib.dll.

Re: Import Wizard failure

Thanks Charles and Dave

Everything checks out but still no luck getting it to work.  We are now setting up another workstation on a computer that has never had Recorder on it to see if the problem still occurs.
