Topic: Installing R6 on Windows 10
I am in the process of installing R6 onto a new Windows 10 laptop and have been following the instructions at http://recorder6.info/R6_Win10_1_64bit.pdf
Having installed SQL Server 2014 express with tools I have run the standalone R6 installation DVD (6.14.4a) and get as far as the SQL Server Settings window where the option to use an existing local SQL Server or MSDE instance is greyed out. So my only option is to install a new instance of SQL Express onto this machine. I tried this just in case it worked using the default settings on the New SQL Express Instance page. When I clicked next the install started to run but got the error message:
'setup.exe - Ordinal Not Found
the ordinal1 could not be located in the dynamic link llibrary
C:\Windows\System32\SQLUNIRL.dll'
I wondered if maybe version 6.14 isnt compatible with the updated SQL server, or if the error was due to something else?
Any help much appreciated
